Wamego Aquatic Center Weather Policy

If there is lightning within 15 miles, for the safety of our guests, all patrons must get out of the water and leave the Aquatic Center for 30 minutes. Lightning will be regularly monitored by staff. Any lightning within the 15-mile radius will restart the 30-minute waiting period. Once there has been no lightning within the radius for 30 minutes, the pool will re-open.

Weather is unpredictable and we hate closing our doors but daily passes will not be refunded and there will be no re-entry without payment. It is the patron's responsibility to know the forecast for the day. Season Pass holders may come and go as they please when the pool is open.

The Wamego Aquatic Center uses Weatherbug Sparks for our lightning monitoring. Use the link provided to check the weather for yourself.
