Kara Holle, Program Assistant |

Holle has served as the Program Assistant at the Chamber since March 2014 and provides membership, program and event support for the organization. Kara shares that her favorite part of working at the Chamber is the opportunity to play a larger, more impactful role in the community that she loves and helping members connect to other people and resources. As a member of the Wamego community for over 28 years, Kara enjoys volunteering for many organizations and serves on the Columbian Theatre Board of Directors.


Michele Johnson, Tourism & Events Coordinator |

Johnson joined the Chamber in March 2016 and serves as the Tourism & Events Coordinator. In this role, Michele serves as the lead staff liaison to the Convention & Visitor’s Bureau Board, the driving force behind aggressive marketing, attraction development, visitor experience, and group travel efforts to attract travelers to Wamego. As well, Michele is responsible for the coordination of the Chamber’s major events and festivals that draw tourists to Wamego such as the Tulip Festival, Independence Day Celebration, OZtoberFest and Season of Lights. As a Wamego community member for over 19 years, Michele has been an avid and enthusiastic volunteer for many community events. She also serves on the Community Health Ministries Board of Directors, is the District 1 representative on the USD 320 School Board, and has illustrated award-winning children’s books over the years.
